Scouting for Birds

Scouting is by far one of the most important aspects to a successful bird hunt. Being able to search out where the birds are going to feed or rest makes a huge difference in a goose hunt. Knowing their flight paths and as well as common fly times is also very important. Being able to set up and hunt popular fields or even areas in sight of the major flyways can make for awesome memories. A lot of time can be spent in a seemingly ideal field in prime season where only a few to no birds come into range. This can simply be because the birds aren’t flying in that area and aren’t using or aware of these ideal locations. That being said time changes everything and maybe a few short days after that same field may be overrun with birds. Knowing when and where the birds are visiting your hunting locations can help make quiet mornings turn to action packed hunts
