This past weekend I participated in some outdoor activity which is still quite new for me. I consider myself to be an avid outdoorsman due to my appreciation of nature and love of hunting and being outdoors. When it comes to hunting, if there is an open season, chances are I’m getting after it. Fishing however is a sport which I have really only dipped my toes into. It was something I was introduced to as a kid but never followed up with as I grew older. I jumped into the world of the outdoors and hunting full throttle and never really spent time on the water.
This last weekend I was invited by some family and friends to venture out for a day of fishing and I am very glad I took them up on the offer. It was a beautiful and warm day on the water. We were lucky enough to fish a small and quiet lake. There was very little human activity on the lake that day however, the fish were hungry. I definitely was not the most successful angler that day but I did manage to reel in a few of my own. Getting out for a nice peaceful day of catch and release fishing with some good friends was a great way to start my summer off. Being out on the water definitely exposes you to different habitats and ways of life for different reptiles, birds and animals. It was a great day outdoors and I look forward to pursuing the sport a little more this summer.
